Both. Most of Egypt is in Africa, but a small section, the Sinai Strip is part of the Middle East.
That is Egypt west of the Suez Canal and Gulf of Suez is Africa, East of it is Middle East.

Egypt lies in Africa, although many of Africa's northern nations have muslim ties, they tend to link themselves more closely with what takes place in the middle Eastern nations of Iran, Iraq, Dubais, etc,.....Egypt is it's own country, and does not belong to a continent, so my answer is neither.
