Reply to the court as indicated on the summons. It is usually not more than15 days from the issuance of the summons. Weekends and holidays are not counted.

It depends. Is it a summons to attend at the Magistrates Court (ie criminal proceedings)? Or is it a county court summons for a civil matter (like for example an outstanding debt). Each court has its own time limits and procedures. I will be able to answer more fully when you provide this information! PS I am a trainee legal executive!

criminal will include all days, usually a reasonable time to get legal advice.

Civil summons service can exclude certain days, see CPR 1998 rule 6 i think.

if the sommons states 30 days, that's 30 calendar days...the window is stated on the summons.
