Am I the only one against downloading music?

I'm getting really sick of people who think downloading music is fine.

Is there anyone on here that is against downloading music? I'm not asking if anyone still buys CD's I'm asking if anybody is COMPLETELY against Downloading?

Yes! I used to be a musician, and after injuries cut short my playing days, I worked for bands for years, so music paid my bills for quite a while. Downloading is stealing. When you steal someone's work, it's like taking the food out of their mouth. It's no different from walking into a store and shoplifting a CD. Most freeloaders, er-I mean downloaders, are kids who have never worked an honest day in their life. If THEY were the ones who were having their music ripped off and losing money, they'd be screaming bloody murder!
And BTW, musicians DON'T make much touring, with all of the production costs, transportation costs, labor costs for crew and extra musicians, etc. It's mainly a way to promote album sales. Take it from someone who's been there.

So when teenagers go to each other's houses and burn the CDs, that is fine with you, only not if its on the internet.....Kids will be kids and they have limited funds for such high prices of CDs these days, like almost 20$$$?? Besides that, who wants to pay that for a bunch of crap music when its just one or two songs they want anyways.....

The people you should be after are those that download the music and sell it again......wait, I think I subscribed to Yahoo unlimited for five bucks a month and I can download as many songs as I like?? I guess that is legal, and it is only hurting the self inflated music label industry that says what people should think is "cool" or not......hope you are not one of them, because music labels are going e commerce, its more convenient and cost effective for everyone.

what a silly thing. downloading music is the best thing to happen to music since recording. In time it will help only the best musicians rise. They will have to rely on touring and no just a good producer in the studio. It makes them tour. besides bands get like 4% of record sales it really doesn't effect them that much it mostly effects companies like time warner, who has consequently ofund a way to get a piece of bands touring action. People I have talked to in a multi platinum band aren't threatened by it at all. It's just beautiful, cheap promotion for how they make their real money.

I'm only against downloading things you CAN'T get anymore. If there is a song that you're not able to get, except for a download, then what are you to do?

Besides, if I can record songs from the radio to a cassette tape, how is downloading any different??

Lime wire is a great application and i think it was meant for the consumer good but some idiot had to go and put the first virus on there and it just caught on, so i used to use limewire but then i wasnt entirely sure i wanted people around the globe having access to all of the files on my computer, so just cough up 99 cents for your favorite song on amazon or itunes and not have to worry about your next trip to the "Geek cave" and wonder how much it will cost to remove the Virus

I'm not, but I do think it's completely ridiculous when people try to justify it. I don't think it's too bad to download rarities (something that can't be bought) or bootlegs (I find it much more objectionable for someone to profit off of this), but really, unless you delete it or buy it, it's all stealing.

I think it wrong because eventually it will put the record companies out of business & hence the artists wont produce any albums so I think the future could be bleak!
