no because she didnt want to be cured she knew what she was doing and she killed Xavier and Cyclopse(scott) so she didnt want to live with the grief and this was a better option because she couldnt control her power ... but I cant believe that they let her kill Xavier that was a huge shock i was amazed hes the leader like

and then when Rogue gets the injection that was stupid either bobby loves her for her or dont love her at all

but anyway id said the killed jean because it was dramatic like because Wolverine loved her and he had to do it so it was sadness they were looking for

sorry are we on about the 2nd part or the 3rd because i just spoiled the film......

Jean dies all the f'n time in the comic books. And keeps resurrecting as Phoenixs until the White hot phoenix shows.

X-men 3 sucked the first 2 were better. Where's Apocalypse and the sentinels at? Where's Gambit & Jubilee?

Your in the movie version of the story line which is many years behind the comicbook story line. also its way off as well. The cure would have worn off as well. As noted in the end of the movie.

The comicbook Jean is just fine. She is married and all that jazz.

She, like Hawkman at DC, was written, rewritten and re-rewritten so many times and in so many ways that she lost dramatic value, so the best thing to do was to kill her, let her sit awhile and then bring her back once all the bad memories are gone and she can make a fresh start of it all.

I think they wanted the ending to be reminiscent of the original Dark Pheonix story in the X-Men comics, when Jean is able to control her dark side just long enough to allow herself to get killed off (for awhile).

Of course, the original story didn't suck like the movie did...
