Ok, MLB is gonna scrap all 30 teams and have a real life fantasy draft with every player in the bigs. Who's your number one pick to build a team around and why?

I have a top five...it's next to impossible to pick one. I guess it'd depend on where I fell in the draft order, so I should actually have a top 30...but here goes.

Key factors:
Leadership (In the clubhouse and on the field)
Health (Trying to avoid anyone who is injury-prone)
Age (If I'm building my franchise around this guy...he needs to be young)
Career Trends (Peaking, Past Prime, Entering Prime, etc)

-Albert Pujols
*Incredible hitter, plays good defense down at first-base, although injuries have plagued him off and on throughout his career he is still very young and has often played through those injuries with roaring success. He is easily the best pure right handed bat in the major leagues and would make a great team leader.

-Jose Reyes
*A dynamic personality on and off the field he is someone who would help keep the team loose and relaxed before a big game. He plays a very solid short-stop and has a great eye at the plate. He reminds me of a young Rickey Henderson with his lead-off abilities.

-Alex Rodriguez
*I would probably move him back to shortstop where he'd feel more comfortable and, hopefully, play some better defense. A-Rod has proven that his career thus far has been nothing short of extraordinary, sadly at just 30 years old he is probably a bit old to be my first draft pick, but with players playing well into their forties anymore it's possible this deal could reap major rewards in the long term. Not much of a team leader, but that is because of his perceived "pretty boy" image.

-Johan Santana
*It's a gamble to take a pitcher first, because they only pitch once every fifth day and you have to ask will you really get the full return on purchase that you could have gotten for a position player...well with Johan, I think the answer is yes. He has proven in his short time as a starter (it's only been like 3 and a half seasons--how crazy is that?!) that he can flat-out baffle hitters time and time again. He is a great team leader and would have a great influence on the younger pitchers on the staff.

-Grady Sizemore
*This one may seem a bit out of place given the rest of the list, especially with tons of young talent still floating around, but I think Sizemore really is the total package. He brings a flair to an otherwise dull Indians clubhouse, he hits for power and for average, he has great speed on the bases and he plays significantly above-average defense. I think he is going to be a future MVP and he has the ability to hit lead-off or, potentially, in the three-hole as his batting eye progresses.

-Honorable Mention
*Joe Mauer
*Ryan Howard
*David Wright
*Roy Halladay
*Justin Morneau
*Chase Utley
*Carlos Beltran
*Francisco Liriano
*Justin Verlander
*Miguel Cabrera
*Carlos Zambrano

If I had the first overall pick and could choose any player at all it would most likely be Andruw Jones (CF) because a good team must have strength up the middle. I would then go for a catcher, shortstop, second baseman and try to build around these players.

Ichiro Suzuki, because he nearly always has a high batting average, can steal bases and has one of the strongest outfield arms in MLB.
