I'm talking about healthy adults aged 18-42 of course. Because if his Army is stretched to the breaking point, why wouldn't his supporters join the Army if they are eligible?

Don't they know that soldiers are being 'stop lossed' and extended and sent back to Iraq 3 or more times? Don't his supporters want to fight for what they believe in, and help out those who are being forced to support his insane policies?

Countless mothers and fathers have joined and are on their second and third tours in Iraq, so that's not an excuse. Pat Tillman was earning MILLIONS, so no excuse their. And the Army needs boots on the ground, not necessarily pilots, so yet again, NO EXCUSE!!!!

Hello J

I was in Vietnam - fighting to make "Vietnam Safe For Democracy." I had guys standing next to me get killed.

Now, all these years later, I hear the same rhetoric, only this time it is about Iraq.

While I have no problem with the USA and UK securing strategic resources [oil], the retention of troops in the middle of a Muslim civil war in order to make Iraq Safe For Democracy turns my stomach.

Let's not get too harsh with the chicken-hawks [Cheney, Bush, Wolfawitz, and of course Arthur Bremer who has to be the stupidest jackass who ever disgraced American government]. There is a special place in Hell for them.

No, but people still have lives, commitments and jobs, families. I have a wife a daughter and a mortgage payment I cannot leave an 80,000/year job to join the military. As a side note, I am a pilot and I applied to the marines and airforce reserves for a pilot slot and I was told they have no openings, that was within the last 6 months.
