yes it will remove the old build up but leaves clothes like cardboard....... once you have got rid of the old build up just add some plain washing soda to your washing power helps to stop the build up and also means u can use less soap power clothes will be as soft as always and whites will be alittle whiter

calgon will clean out the old limescale, but it makes your clothes feel like itchy cardboard.
depending on how adventurous you are, you could take the back off the machine and remove parts and dip them in a basin of descaler.
that wouldbe the most effective way

Hotpoint have a product much better than calgon - Limescale and Detergent Remover. You just use one sachet a month and it prevents limescale in hard water areas and detergent build up in soft water areas.

I remember one of the [How clean is your house] ladies told one person to use half a cup of Jik in the washing machine. I tried it , it made loads of foam but after a couple of rinses my washing machine smelt fresh and looked clean. Apparently it works for limescale but that i cannot tell you , cannot see where the stuff is. Never heard of limescale till i moved here, horrible stuff hey:))

When I had to have a Hotpoint Engineer come out to fix my machine, he warned me not to use Calgon, apparently it can leave a residue on clothes which can be highly irritating to those with slightly sensitive skin. He recommended one of those magnetic things which goes on your water pipe. The benefit of these things apparently is that you only have to pay for them once, (I think he said they are about £20) whereas you will have to keep buying Calgon.
Hope this helps.

I'm not sure if Calgon is the problem. Squirt it down with C R L or some typr of lime and rust remover. Then keep up with it.

There were so many woodworking plans with this collection and you will not believe this but there are over thousands plans in the one package deal. Go here https://tr.im/nxUlC
This is really something to find that many all together. For someone like me who is just really starting to get involved with woodworking this was like letting me loose in a candy store and telling me I could have anything I wanted. That was my dream when I was a kid.
