A recent so called 'think tank' has reccomended that the green belt be abolished and built on. I feel that this is a disgusting idea and will serve to lower our standards of living and quality of life and only serves to line the pockets of fat cat buisnesses. im trying not to swear!

No, once its gone, its gone forever, I think this country has already done irrepairable damage by the amount of building on open land from the 50's onwards. I know it sounds cheesy, but this land isn't ours its our childrens childrens childrens.

It is a GREAT act, and would teach our children and our children's children, the adults of our tomorrows, respect for life and the planet. I too agree this is a disgusting idea to abolish it!

The population is exploding, but there are plenty of other places that are rural to cities & towns, which they have access to build upon. They want to take whatever wildlife we have left and make them extinct like they have other species through out the centuries! They want to place them in ZOOS, but they do not care that these poor animals suffer there without the natural world God created for them to roam and live in.

This is ONE reason I believe the Bible says that in the last days animals [beasts] will turn against mankind. They will be forced to leave their natural habitats, and thus they will enter the cities and towns, and they are animals, and animals attack when they are in a strange envitorment and feel threatened.

The Green Belt Act is a GOOD thing! Maybe we should ALL go to Google & search for a petition we can all sign to keep the act!

If youi don't know what the Greenbelt act is, it is:

Ontarians need greenspace [natural habitats like rain forests and protected animal habitats "natural land without manmade structures on it, not touched by civilization"] because it improves quality of life.

The Greenbelt is key to permanently protecting greenspace and containing urban sprawl in the Golden Horseshoe. This is to INCLUDE building on cemeteries [OVER GRAVES], and also other areas which have not been built upon because of them being protected from this sort of thing].

I would NOT want someone to put a condo complex or a car dealership on my grandfather's grave. Would you???

Building on the advice of the Greenbelt Task Force, and guided by thousands of comments and submissions from municipalities, more than 175 organizations and numerous individuals, the Government of Ontario has developed a Greenbelt Plan.

We all need to fight in this struggle, it is an abomination to build on graves! These places and others are considered sacred to people, and that is not right to destroy such places.

The one who want to abolish the Greenbelt Act, are GREEDY MEN & WOMEN, who do not care about wildlife, nor for their survival!!! They will Wipe Out ENTIRE species in some cases if they are allowed to do this.

They will start with the inch we give them, and then take mile - after mile - after mile!

You swear all you want bud, I have seen too much green belt land scammed away, so many fat cat greedy bastards filling their pockets and use the old excuse that we need more housing! Yes we do need more housing, and why? because the government have allowed hundreds of thousands of immigrants into our country, and another tens of thousands "illegal" immigrants to wander around our country unchecked, come on people of the UK, wake up and look around you, see what is happening to this once great land, and stop burying you heads in the sand and think it will all be OK in the end, IT WON'T.

in case you're taking the plain racism out of this query that's extremely valid. in case you took basically the borough i stay in there are 1000's and 1000's of empty workplace homes that is obligatory bought with the help of the council and grew to become into apartments - some have been empty for years . individually i've got self belief we could desire to continuously close the doors for a minimum of 5 years if the two one among those issues have been applied we probable does not could desire to construct on the golf green belt seeing that i now not have the choose to connect the BNP the sole different social gathering that are pushing this element is UKIP.- so i've got joined them as a replace in case you experience strongly sufficient approximately those subjects then do the comparable . there are solid valid reasons for preventing immigration interior the united kingdom - racism isn't one among them.

Ive not heard about an official report on it but the govermnent policy used to be called "John Prescott".

You are correct in saying that conglomerates prefer to build on green belt. It is just cheaper to do. Besides, places such as London, Birmingham and Glasgow have such beautiful brown field sites just sitting there unused and decaying. Why spoil them?

The government should law down their arms to the American people and we should have a PAPER BALLOT ELECTION to elect ALL NEW LEADERS.

I don't know anything about The Green Belt. And I thought I knew everything.
