Going to a Winter formal dance for my school. Tie or no tie? Opinions?

well its a dance where our school goes down to a club. But it gets sweaty with a tie. Is it more relaxed without a tie

depends. How "formal" is "formal"? The word has become rather loose lately in our schools and amongst our youth. Regardless, I still think that "formal" means "formal". Wear a tie.
