what is everyones opininon on how good or bad this movie looks, from what i have seen of it it looks nothing like the original except for zombies and some character names that are the same,1of the characters is even a different colour this time! The dawn of the dead remake (although v diferent too) at least retained the main aspect of the original in that the charcters where trapped in a shopping mall, but the main setting i.e the army bunker is supposedly missing from the day remake. I thjink this one has the potential to be a good zombie flick in its own right, but unlike the original i think this time round there will be a lot more action&plenty of blood and gore.I Guess we will all find out soon enough how good or bad it is&until then i will be looking forward to seeing it. :-)

As much as I'd like to think it was going to be good, it looks pretty awful. The problem lies with studios who want as much money as possible and so lower the certificate to get as many bums on seats as they can. Then to appeal to the lucritive teen audience, they cast established DotD characters as young good looking heroes.

It looks like Dr Logan has dropped about thirty years and lost Bub.

They should have used George's original DotD script for the remake - simple as that. And preferably used Joe Piloto again as Rhodes.

I'll watch it, but i'm not expecting much. :o(

Well i have seen the trailer and i am NOT impressed. This looks like a made for TV movie. I thought as Steve Miner was directing it that it would be good to watch. Boy did i make it wrong. It looks so cheezy i'm not sure if i will see the full film when it is released. I agree with the other guy, George should have done this one with his original script. This just looks like a pile of cack. The fact that Ving Rhames is in this one is interesting after dying at the end of dawn (off camera) and what the hell is Mena Suvari doing in this. I hold my breath until it is released but i don't have good hopes for it, that's for sure.

I like the gritty and grainy picture that dawn and day had when George directed them. They had a sence of realism about them and you were generally scared but this digitally done remake looks like it lacks all of those traits. I am hoping though that i'm wrong but from the look of the trailer, it doesn't look likely. I wouldn't be surprised if it goes straight to video and dvd.
