Yup!!! for a short term though...
People working in call centers are mostly youngsters. And most of these call centers serves the western countries. These youngsters are trained to interact with those western people. Somehow they are influenced by their interaction. I don't mean that they get influenced by the western culture. They get influenced by the kind of organisation they go through while their interaction. When I was in a call center me and my group used to discuss about it - like how well planned they are!! How oriented!! How systematic!! We used to believe that they are very pracftical and out of the matters of religion, caste color, race or any discrimination factor.
Later I realised taht, if i study and follow my own culture properly I would be well organised and planned too. Besides I would have an added benefit of staying fit. Later, on making visits to some of those regions, I came to know that they are very religious and actually proud of their religion. I don't understand this part - Why is it that going to church every sunday is a must but going to temple is being superstitious. Why, with all due respects; they look at idol of Lord Jesus or Mother Mary, or a picture of them and make thier prayers. But stone worshipping is a superstition. Why kids there are thaught to pray before sleep, while they make astonished faces if our kids do it. Why whatever they do to follow thier traditions is cool, but when we do it we are primitive? Why they can have seven children in a row, while we are considered as illiterate if we go for more than two?
There are a lot more such examples. Whatever superstions I have mentioned above were acts termed as superstitions when the British were here.
This call center influence is just a short term influence I suppose. Some day the actual picture comes into sight and you are back to normal.
:-)

You probably don't realize this, but call centers are a sore subject among Americans. First of all, each job represents a job lost by an American (except telemarketing - we consider that disreputable) , and secondly we get irritated when the person doesn't understand us or wants to run us through some silly script. So you may not get a straight answer here.

Never They have never spoiled anything, It is the narrow mans thinking which has spoilt the traditions.
if people starts comlain then then they will have to compalin about 25 mnc banks which have come in india, there are 20 mnc insurance companies which have come to india, there are 10 mnc teleservices in india .People wants to enjoy the bennifits, but when problems come they are not ready to solve the problems.
It is the narrow thinking of induviduall which creates problems. Broad minded people have always looked and contributed to the devlopment of our country.

The parents granted their wards freedom to go for the job. It is children's duty to maintain the decorum and culture. The BPO call operators have to be bit vigilant and careful.

I don't feel that it spoiling our tradition wise. The nature of working and their related cultural activity have been changed that's all. The encouragable think is its reducing the unemployee problem. The other thinks are based on individual acitivity.

Young people, working for call centres, are at many disadvantages except money. Most harmfull effect is that their faculty of innovation becomes blunt.
