The New York State Department of Vital Records would be the place to begin searching. The file/s may be sealed (they cannot access them for you); however, you'll not know until you speak with them. Try speaking with the administrator at the hospital where delivery took place in Batavia and determine whether they are or are not at liberty to cooperate with your efforts. Other places to look are at the State's Health Department. Back then, most innoculations were given at state based facilities. They may have records that would be helpful.

Also, back then, some newspapers would literally 'list' the hospital admissions and releases. Her name could be there.

Good luck with your efforts...also consider getting a DNA screen started so that you may learn more about your birth parents without 'having to' meet them.

First of all, I wish you luck. I found my birth mother and never thought I would. What I did was simply type in my birth date and place into the yahoo search engine. This tiny little advertisement came up, it was someone looking for her birth daughter and it included an e-mail address. My friend an I e-mailed her, and she and I started communicating. We were pretty sure by our similarities in appearance that she was really my birth Mom, and we eventually got the records unsealed and they confirmed that she was. It's been a great experience, I hope yours is as positive. Good Luck.
