People at work are doing my head in, I'm getting harassed basically and nearly broke down. I was off yesterday but can't face going in today. Should I?

Call in sick for the rest of the week to give yourself time to think about what you are going to do about the harassment. If you are in a bad way going into work isn't going to help you at the moment. When you do call in sick you should really tell your boss at least part of the problem so they can speak to you when you go back and get the problem sorted out.
Whoever is harassing you needs to be stopped now and the only way that will happen is you being honest.
Let me know how you get on.
Take care

If this is harassment you should take action now to stop it. As for the sickie, i think you have a genuine case. Go to your doctor to get signed and seek advice on what to do next from someone like the citizens advice bureau. Stuff em! Good luck

Been there, done it, got the t-shirt. Taking two days is always believed as illness. One day is just down to too much to drink. I hated my job and I was under a lot of stress. I even ended up in hospital. I had a job, a wife, a son, a dog and three cars. Now I have nothing. Don't let this happen to you.

Yes I think you should go in because the longer you leave it the worses it will be. Why don't you talk to someone in charge and explain that you are being harrassed. I should mention that I resigned from my job rather than talk to anyone about bullying. It was a mistake. Good luck

If your being harassed at work by colleagues and your boss is doing nothing to help you might have a case for an industrial tribunal. Speak to someone at http://www.acas.org.uk/

do you have a supervisor ? or someone like the boss you can put your worries to ???

Harrassment is a form of bullying and is not generally tolerated in any workplace... besides harrassment is against the law - have you tried to tell the people who are harrassing you that what they are doing is against the law and maybe even put the threat of going to your supervisors / boss with your complaints....

Don't let the Baskets get you down. Go in and show them what you are made of. Annoy them by being happy and efficient. Just think of the money!

If you really need a break take the day off. But, remember it might make it even harder to go back when you finally do.
