beacause the thought of dying today makes you feel like you should live fully & passionately, but if we all did that most of us would end up being sixty with no money, no friends, no underwear & a bottle of rum.
it's impossible to only live one way & you'd be pretty silly to do it.

People say live every day as if it were your last because they are saying get the most out of each day, you may not be here tomorrow. They worry about the future because each day may not be your last, in which case you had better have a plan for the future.

It simply means enjoy life to the fullest but don't stop living because you may die tomorrow. If you were to look back and not have put any thought into your future you'll live to regret not having lived a good life.
