it seems the right way to end the division of our people.

I hope so. I am a non(former) smoker, but I am really concerned that so many of our freedoms are disappearing. Smokers are viewed by many as being almost criminal like in their behavior, when in fact smoking is still legal. There are things that can be done, and compromises that can be made, but it seems that some do not want to compromise, they want it their way. Period. If a business owner chooses to allow smoking then why not? Why can't he install ventilation systems and have separate rooms. I don't think anyone is talking about allowing smoking in places where children might be, but in bars, clubs, even restaraunts WITH the right ventilation system.
This isn't as much about smoking as it is about another loss of freedom, and one day it could turn around and bite people when it is one of their "freedoms" that is threatened.
