I think the best way to memorize any lesson is through making "NOTES" of each and every lesson you study. The advantages of making notes:

1. Easy to follow.
2. No need to refer book again and again.
3. You can remember points for long time.
4. If you cant remember what you studied last week, just go through notes, they are enough.

Just follow it and see the changes. Please make notes in points, DO NOT WRITE IT AS A PARAGRAPH, OTHERWISE IT"LL BE BORING TO READ AGAIN AND AGAIN.

First of all see the lessons as a very small subject as the normal human brain can store an approx of the message that is equivalent to the files stored in a very big apartments of the world.

secondly start eating a fist full of raw groundnuts everyday and drink warm water with 2 spoons of honey in the morning. this will sharpen the memory. Pray calmly for 5 minutes every day in the morning and in the evening

Don't cram, understand the basics. That way you will never have to learn anything by rote. You should be able to write the answers on your own.
I know that your teachers may not appreciate that ability unless you happen to be one of the hep ICSE/IGCSE schools. But that is what will help you in real life and not memorizing.
You should try and the minimize your cramming.
UNDERSTAND and you will not find the necessity to cram.
