Does Gisele honestly think she is being intelligent with her idiotic comments on causes of anorexia?

She says it is really negligent parents in her opinion who are the cause. Not the fashion industry, not drugs that alot of models and the like use in addition to keep themselves waifish. So girls today are getting mixed messages and don't know who to believe. But becasue she is in the spotlight, there are many who will take her (or someone like her) word as gospel.

blaming the parents, i think that's a bunch of b.s. when you're a teenager, you're trying to be attractive to the outside world, not your parents!!!

I think she is just expressing her opinion.

I work with adolescents who suffer from eating disorders and I feel that family plays a huge part in the disease. I also feel that the media needs to take some responsibility. These girls get their ideas of body image from the fashion industry, videos and magazines. Having a family that is non-supportive doesn't help the situation. I feel that just because Gisele was blessed enough not to allow the media to affect her doesn't give her the right to speak for the rest of the world. The fashion industry does play a big part.

No she's not idiotic she's honest. Parents should held their children develope a positive self image and give them discipline.Blaming fashion models,Barbie Dolls,etc is not going to stop Anorexia.Making sure a child is taught they are beautiful because of whats on the iside is what we need to do.Why so much hatred for Gisele? Isnt she just as much entitled to an opinion as the rest of us?Right or wrong she is entitled to her opinion.There is so much Pollitcally Correct bunk out there shifting the blame as opposed to actually solving the problem. The real cause of problems like Anorexia and other eating disorders in my opinion is the fact a lot of parents dont go and say to their kid that that love them despite being fat,skinny,short,tall,etc.Gisele is a celeb,sure there are celebs I'd like to tell to shut their pieholes but then that would be hypocritical of me because I have opinions that not everyone agrees with(I'm a conservative).The thing we must remember as long as there are human beings on earth there will be opinions whether its Denis Leary,Rush Limbaugh,Whoopi Goldberg,Ted Nugent ,etc.Now I'll get off of my soapbox and let another whale sing its song

I'll tell you first hand, the fashion industry is not the only factor. it's true they put pressure on the girls but you have to have some sort of background to fall into anorexia..

I went through a lot of psychology to help myself and I did find out that your relationship with your parents plays a big role in this matter (specially mother)

well, she has a point. it is a fact that most anorexics come from upper middle class homes and are craving attention, especially from fathers!
