I am a current international student living in the US. I'm really thinking of applying to UCLA for the class of 2012.

Though, since UCs favor California residents, would I be in great disadvantage? (By the way, I lived in California for 2 years now, so that would make me a California resident) However, would it not matter since I hold an international status?

Admission for international students is rather complex and you should consult with an admission officer at UCLA to address your concerns. Right now they are neck deep in applications; wait until the summer (June or after) to call.

If you don't find someone helpful, keep calling back at different times until you do. Be polite but persistent, but don't piss anyone off; you never know who will end up reading your application.

Whether you apply as a CA resident or as an international student makes a HUGE difference. There are just a tiny number of spots for int'l students. Most of the space if for CA residents, plus they pay the cheaper tuition.

I'd call the admissions office to see if you can apply as a regular CA student. You being here in 2 years makes things kind of confusing. It's best to talk it over with them to properly figure out exactly what you are.
