I know this sounds insane, but as a kid I managed to avoid fighting or getting into trouble, and I always wanted to have a black eye. I finally got one when I asked some chick to punch me in the face, and I was happy to have it.
Does anyone else have any similar stories, either from fights or sports or other crazy stunts? Where does one go to be seen or find others who like to be seen sporting a shiner?

Well Steve let me tell you i was shopping in Grand Union when i was in my early 20's of course I wasn't watching where I was going and I hit my eye on the hanging scale in the produce department and gave myself a nice black eye. My son gave me a black eye from playing blind man's bluff (hide and seek in the dark)
So tell me did the punch hurt? Was the black eye lookin good?
I rather a shiner then a broken nose. Maybe we should try for two black eyes I bet then people would think wow u were in a fight and then you can say you kicked two guys A*** for trying to rob u.

My former son in law used to love to show off his battle scars. He got a new one every month or so when he went out meandering after drinking to much. He thought they made him look really tough; until the doctor informed him he was lucky it didn't blind him or cause a blood clot and give him a stroke!
After that he tried to avoid the battle ground ( so to speak)!!

I don't particularly enjoy getting black eyes, but if you get one you have no choice but to flaunt it.
