Why can't they use polyester, foam or something else?

the feathers are associated with pillow fighting.
its fun to see the pillow burst and the feathers flying out. it wouldn't be as fun to visualize looking at a foam or polyester pillows during a pillow fight.

yeah or those funny moulding pillows that shape to your head. That would be awkward as theyre so heavy. Then again all those feathers aint exactly light. I do like the wack you get with a duck down pillow though. Not funny when you have to clear the feathers up tho.

Feather represents softness and also lightness.
Feathers appeal more to females and children then other materials u mentioned.
Moreover its a tried and tested formula, Who wants to experiment nowadays.

maybe they're less of a fire hazard, perhaps it's a health and safety issue?
