I was just wondering why are people with dogs not understanding to other people feelings. Like the other day I was coming into my house and one of the neighbor had 2 pitbulls loose playing around while he was talking to friends. Now me I am terrified of dogs especially big dogs. I tried to act like I wasn't sfraid but when I saw the dog running up to me I had to go the other way.

Why do people do that? They act as if everyone like dogs and no one are afraid of them when in reality people are? I really hate big dogs I can't stand them. I had a bad experience when i was younger. I didn't get bitten but I am scarred by it. I understand people like them but I feel show some respect for others have your dog on a lease. Isn't that a law or something?
We had a problem like that once before but there were stry dogs running around my neighborhood and they took care of it. All I want is for them to be more considerate of others. What can I do? To tell you the truth I was about to call the cop

I live in a row house and each person have there own little yard. Its sort of like a gated community but we have our own yard. I feel that even though there are about 12 houses in this one big yard he shouldn't have the dog running around like that. He should do that in his yard. What do they have some parks for..............dogs to run around.

He had no leash and the god ran up to my finger I did not like that. I am not a baby because you never know when an animal will turn on you.

I agree with you. I am not always happy to see some big unleashed dog run up to me, even if they are friendly. I was thinking about how dogs get a pass on all kinds of behavior a person never has to put up with from anything else in their lives. These large dogs can run up to you, busting your eardrums, jump all over you, claw at your bare legs, (if you're wearing shorts or a dress-ouch!), try to lick you on your feet, legs, and (ugh!), face with the same tongue they lick their butts with!
To top it all off, their clueless owners think it's all charming.
You don't pay all that rent to have to deal with that nonsense. Pit Bulls especially are known to be more aggressive as a breed than other breeds out there. My best friend has one and has had to keep on top of the training way more to keep it in line than any other dog he's owned.
I'd contact the landlord if they own both properties or the police/animal control. There most certainly is leash laws.
(btw- Some dogs I like, so no hate posts, please).

I don't think there is much you can d, other than tell your neighbour that you have a fear of dogs and to keep a watch on them, or inside the house when you are in the yard. Calling the police would not work much, because they recieve those calls all the time, and there is little they can do about them, other than tell you to contact your local animal welfare shelter.
The fear of dogs I can understand, I also have that and turn tail (excuse the pun) whenever I see one, large or small.

Talk to your neighbor, and explain the situation. He is probably unaware of your fear, so he can't see any cause for concern. In his mind, he's letting his dogs get some exercise.
If that doesn't help, then get some mace or pepper spray. Tell your neighbor that you have it, and will use it if you have to, but if y'all could work it out amicably that would be the best for everyone. (including the dogs)
