I don't think that you can just blame one thing, it's to do with the media definitely, magazines, tv, movies, music clips, impressionable minds, maybe family, friends who have eating problems, being bullied, etc, I definitely think its a psychological thing

Anorexia is not genetic. The society, media, etc... have a lot of influence on the increasing number of anorexic clients. Society and media implicates that thin is sexy and beautiful and fat is ugly. Every woman has a need to feel beautiful and feel good about herself. Even if a woman settles for her own standard of what is beautiful, what good is that, if that is not what is beautiful to the society. Family could be another factor. Our parents and our brothers are the number one people that we would love to receive the best complements from. But if they don't eventhough we're okay we tend to work a little harder for them to see. Anorexic people have a silent cry... "look at me, i need to hear you tell me im okay".... i guess it's either anorexics are way too unreasonably insecure or people around them are way too unreasonably insensitive to make them feel appreciated...

There is absolutely no universally agreed upon proof for her assertion. It is all in the mind. Most often it is the result of repressed rage or anger. Anxiety, worry, and poor self-esteem are often factors.

People who blame external causes for such behavior are in denial of their own responsibility. While intervention may be necessary at times, recovery ultimately depends drastically upon the patient's choice to cooperate with their medical doctor and psychotherapist.

no, I blame vogue, cosmo, talentless designers who say that the dresses hang better on a slender female as opposed to having the talent to make any figure look good in their outfit, etc, etc.
