Not only Indians, but with any married couple in the world, the only reason for them to land up in divorce is wrong expectations and ego.

We start expecting from our partner. When they fail to match up our expectations we regret. Is that the problem with the partner or with us? Why should I expect anything from my partner? All I need to do is play my role as an responsible partner. The other will definitely play it's part. If it doesn't work out I could rather make a decent, lovely approach towards the partner to let it realize its fault. That too without producing any offensive remarks.

The other problem is the ego. Give way to your ego and you will end up asking for more space. More and more untill there's no space left out for your partner. Result??? Divorce...

Bieng Indian has gott nothing to do with divorce. Instead Indians are more tolerant. Indians are basically people with extreme emotions. They get insane when Sachin hits a Century. They get insane when he is out for a duck.

Indians can go upto a higher level of sacrifice as compared to others. Specially Indian women. Salutes to them....

it could be that they do not get along. it would be a personality difference or incompatability. maybe they have hurt each other so much that the love they once had for each other died.

these happens to couples all over the world, not only in india. they get married and then outgrow each other, their interests change and then find out they really do not know each other. then, finally love is not as strong as it once was so that they are unable to resolve their problems.

marriage has to be worked on.....both have to try from the first day they got married until the end....they have to constantly work on their marriage for as long as they are together. but sometimes, as life is not perfect and people are not perfect, they stray from one another, lose trust and respect for one another until they have nothing to hold them together anymore.

first problem is the indian mentality........man is the master of the house,
but in todays scenario where the woman also goes to work, the responsibility of the house is also on her. so the man is becoming laid back, he feels that he has the right to her finance also. so now the indian woman has become the bread winner in addition to taking care of the kids and all the domestic chores also.

when this stress becomes too much for her and the man does not respect her and her feelings and becomes even more demanding and treats her as a doormat, she has started looking at herself and fighting for her self respect. that is the reason for divorce cases increasing today.
