I've finished university two years ago, and just got a promotion, after paying off students loans I now have some money to spend on a car. What kind of car would you recommend for someone in their early 20s, might occasionally take the car to the track, but has to be an everyday car, and I am from Toronto so it occasionally snows here, lastly, it has to be under $30 000, and I prefer used over new.

I am thinking G35 coupe, but I am asking because I want more options, this would be a car I'll drive for 3-4 years, and will be my first car, so I don't want to make a mistake.

Thanks

Mazda 6 Or a mazdaspeed 6

I have an '05 Mazda 6 GT 4cyl now and absolutly love it. it has been reliable and great in the snow. However if I had to do it all over again I would get the Mazdaspeed 6, same car but 274HP and AWD. I test drove one and It knocked my socks off. Some dealers may have some '06 models left witch will net quite a savings over a '07 model and there was no major diff. Do yourself a favour and at least test drive one.

While reading your question I couldn't stop thinking about the Audi S4! 1) It's a slick looking car. Audi's are super nice and the S4 has a pretty dang nice leather interior. 2) You can get them for around 20-30,000 for the last generation of the S4 (CND). 3) With a little work, you will be lovin life on the track! A friend of mine bought the 2000 model and put a few grand in performance parts into it and the thing is incredible! 4) It is PERFECT for Canadian winter driving! It has one of the most advanced all wheel drive systems in the world. Whenever the tires start to slip, it throws the power to the tires that aren't slipping. I hope this helped. You will not be dissapointed with the S4!

P.S. The Mitsubishi Evo and the Subaru WRX sti are sweet cars but, they are a little too aggressive looking for a professional. plus I'm pretty sure that you can't get evo's insured in Canada or else I (a younger student) would already have one.

This clip compares all three. (The S4 is the V8 Model But it gives you a good feel for how the S4 compares to the evo and sti.)

Since you've got a bit of money to spend, and it seems as though you'd like to get something quick, why don't you look into an Audi S4. If you can, try to get the manual instead of the triptronic (sport shift, or electric-manual if you will) transmission.
The v6 engine in these things can be tuned to do wonders, and the twin turbos on them coupled with the AWD will keep you pinned to your seat when you accelerate.

If that isn't a suitable option, get a BMW M3.

I'd go with either a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo or a Suburu Wrx Sti. Those two cars look so plain but are packed to the max with go fast parts. You can get a G35 when you are a little bit older but since you are still young, I'd get a go fast car that everyone will sleep on you.

Honda Integra Type-r, preferably a DC2 model with a B18C engine. If you can get them that is! Perfect chassis and it drives like its on rails! Naturally aspirated power for the fuel conscious racer/ tree hugger

I would suggest a used camry it will give you more money to pay off student loans and they seem to run forever. money in the bank is a better status symbol than a car.

A Saab Areo. Think about When was the last time you saw one pulled over by the cops? They are fast safe and have front wheel drive.

hmm, I would probably say a lexus is... if you can, the '06 and '07s are really nice. they have speed for the track, and good looks for the job.

Ok...from one Canadian to another, buy a Toyota Camry if you can find one. Luxury and comfort. Looks good too.
