which is fastest? i think the top athletes in each sport can surpass 100MPH. is it coincidence that they reach a similar speed? wouldn't a racket or stick give more leverage to increase the speed?

a baseball pitch is usually around 100. tennis serves are around 120's and even above. i've never seen an average of a hockey slap shot but i'm sure it's fast as well. I would think of all of these... the tennis serve is the fastest because the racket gives leverage and the ball is small and more aerodynamic than a hockey puck. i would also think that a puck would get weighed down a little by the melted ice (or water) and be a little harder since the hockey players don't have firm footing like the tennis player. i hope this helps a little bit. the baseball pitch is definitely slower than tennis though.. so that narrows it down a little.

its either a tennis serve or a slap shot. But i think a slap shot would be the fastest cause I think u would have more control and leverage with hockey stick so u could put more power behind the shot. I think an average slap shot is around 110 to 125 mph

The farthest a human can propel an object without the aid of a machine is when a golfer hits a golf ball with his driver. It stands to reason that a golf ball is hit faster than either a puck, a baseball or a tennis ball.

The follow through in throwing or hitting does not actually have any effect on the object, since once the object leaves your hand or the bat or stick you can not change the direction or speed of the object. However, without following through you do not have a good release or impact. You can not possibly throw something and stop the motion of your arm upon release. If you did not follow through you would alter the motion or action before release..
