Hubby had all his Hang-gliding gear out for today, SHAME, checked the wind yesterday and said it would be fine. Only to find the place covered in snow. Looks absolutely beautiful but had to cancel flying. Poor guy, has not been out there for weeks. Anyone else here do Hang-gliding ?? Going out later to enjoy the snow , i know my dogs are going to love it, they eat it like it is going out of fashion. Enjoy your day and dress warmly [ mother in me ].

Hey where were you the other day when I asked if anybody hang glided? I took lessons last year at Jockey's Ridge, Outer Banks NC. had fun but haven't tried to get too involved in NY. Was hoping someone from NY could get me into it. It has only snowed very lightly here (thankfully) by mid-day it's gone.

Hasn't hardly stopped since before December .Its sunshine a few days a week then the snow sets in usually for the weekend . and so we haven't seen the bushes or grasses or grass for almost two months the top is starting to melt a little but there is more on the way for the weekend.. just when you thought it was safe enough to come out again in the sun..

I'm near Birmingham (UK).
It was snowing around midnight but when I got up this morning it looks like it has part thawed, then froze. Everywhere' s icy!
I've just been very good and been out in the garden to pour some hot water onto the bird bath so they can get a drink!

Our garden looks magical! There is about 1/2 inch of snow covering the paths and grass but it's the trees that look so wonderful. I'm going to take a photo and use it for my Christmas cards this year! You won't believe it but there is a Robin sitting on my window ledge as I type this!! Merry Christmas everyone!

lol ... it's so funny to hear someone say it's cold, and it's only a little below freezing. We've had a couple cold snaps of -38. :O

I think here in Alberta, Canada ... we've topped everyone in regards to snowfall. There's soooo much snow that we don't have anywhere to pile it anymore!! Oh well, the kids are havin' a lot of fun sliding down the man-made mountains of snow ... and it's just -3 right now ... balmy for this time of year. :)

it hasn't snowed here, but my parents live 80 miles away from me, on the edge of the north Yorkshire moors, and my dad text me to say that he'd had to dig snow off the driveway so he could open his garage door. it always gets bad up there though (near Whitby) i wouldn't mind if it did snow here - my son is 4 years old, and he keeps asking when the snow is going to come. the only time i don't like it is when i have to drive in heavy snow.

I would love it if it were to snow here in So Cal, I took my son to the mountains the last time it snowed here. Some people have it spoiled, like us, we never have snow, only surf and sun, never any fun when you want to snowbaord. My husband took us to Colorado where his family was from and it was so beautiful, and I even got to snowbaord there.

You have it lucky when it snows....I am not used to cold, but the sights there are just extrordinary.

The snow here is gone now, but up on the mountain people are enjoying the snow on there snowboards or skiing.
