So who's to blame? The criminal or the employer who only wants to hire trustworthy people? Perhaps people must start thinking about the consequences to their actions...not only jail, but what happens after.
I have NO sympathy for a convict. You make your own bed.

Look for jobs that don't do background checks- not EVERY job does background checks, in fact, many, many DONT! Lie....lie on the application and the worst that can happen is that they won't hire you! Just don't tell people, and stay away from jobs that require background checks.
Society does look down on those with records, but can you blame them? Would YOU want someone who dealt drugs or robbed a store handling YOUR money? Probably not. You reap what you sow....your best bet is to do what I suggested and build up a good reputation again.

you have to hope that some sympathetic employer will take a chance on you and take a chance that you have turned over a new leaf and have left your criminal activities well and truly in the past.
personally, as an employer..i wouldnt hire a convicted thief or somebody who has shown to be violent...why would i want that type of person in the workplace? the only other hope would be for them to start up their own businesses.

Unless your famous or rich having a felony only hinders you. I agree but that is one of the consequences needed to consider before committing crimes. Look at it like this if your spouse cheated on you he would have to earn your trust again right? If someone who has committed crimes comes to you and they're a stranger why should you offer trust or forgiveness to someone you don't know. You start out by trusting someone who has a record of behavior ordinarily wouldn't be trusted?

You take what you can get. Most people where I live get jobs at convenient stores, construction, or auto repair. I know it sucks, but that is the price you pay for commiting a crime.
