I've had a c-section, 2 drug free hospital VBACs and an HBAC (HomeBirth After Cesarean). Any future children will be born at home with just me and my family. C-sections are not less painful as they are major surgery. Even tho my recovery was without complications, it was really hard to take care of a newborn with a big ol' incision across my belly. Nah, give me a drug free natural birth any day.

Hi, congratulations on the pregnancy :) With my first child I had to have a c-section due to complications, I was also induced as she was 15 days late (lazy baby lol). The c-section was sooo easy as I never even had the chance to go into labour so I felt no pain throughout the whole delivery however, after the delivery (the next morning when all feeling came back) was very painful, every time I sneezed, coughed or laughed really hurt but that only lasted a couple of days. I am now pregnant again and am opting for a vaginal birth this time around (I will probably choose gas and air for pain relief), although the c-section was pretty easy I would like to experience a natural birth as I feel I missed out last time and would like to be able to share my experiences with my daughter when she is older and having kids of her own.

I think I would go with natural... I have had a C-section and I couldn't do much of nothing. It hurt all over, you can't take a bath and when you shower you have to make sure your wound don't get wet. Natural sometimes is not possible but if I could I would. It has a faster recovery, and no big scar across your tummy. Natural also give you more bonding time. You feel more needed then them just cutting you and taking the baby out, to me there wasn't any bonding there. I didn't get to see him come out like you would with a natural birth.Only one person can be in the operating room while hospitals allow as many people as you'd like.

I just had my baby boy 2 months ago and Im so glad I was able to have him vaginally. I was praying to not have to end up having a c-section.....while I was pregnant I refused to have an epidural during birth. But oh boy after being in labor and huffing and puffing at the hospital for 16 hours I finally had reached my maximum pain tolerance and agreed (demanded) and epidural.I think I probably could have gone without though bcuz the anesthesiologist said I had done really good cuz I did not use the self-control drip for the meds (epidural) at all after he inserted it with the first dose. The main reason I would not want an epidural is mainly for the fact that you cant hold your baby right after giving birth.

Unless something terribly freakish occurs, I'll be having mine "naturally", though I'm no hero and will take drugs/epidural if I feel the pain is bad enough.
Not only are elective c-sections hard to come by, but the thought of having major abdominal surgery for something that's supposed to be so natural just weirds me out, not to mention the prospect of being cut open in the first place, that just makes me squeamish. When they can have the baby out in 5 minutes but have to spend another 45 just closing you back up, no thanks, I'll take the stitches in the perineum and sit on a pillow for a few days.

I chose to have a C-section, it was great. I had no complication after and was back up and moving the same day. There was discomfort at first but that's to be expected after having major surgery. Its been 4 years this month and the scar is almost gone. Except for a one side, I sneezed and popped a stitch the day after. I've never regretted my decision to do it that way. As far as not getting to bond with my daughter right after she came out... my husband got to. It really made him feel like he was apart of everything. plus while I was recovering the nurses were teaching him how to change diapers and bath her. I didn't have to change a single diaper for 2 weeks!

Natural. Ive had two natural deliveries. I felt that if I had drugs it was bad for the baby and I dont think C sections should be a choice ( only for emergencies).
Having natural deliveries was great I actually got to help deliver my own children ( besides for the pushing etc, I got to hold them as they came out) and hold them straight away.

I'm going to try to go completely natural. No medicine.(we'll see...)
I think a natural birth allows for more bonding. Plus the likelihood of a vaginal birth after a c-section decreases dramatically.

Natural all the way. Don't know why - I'd just rather not have a huge scar to go with the flabby belly and stretch marks that come after pregnancy.

If I had it to do all over again...I'd go for the C-section as long as I could be out...Because there was no pain...They put me "under" and when I woke up I had a beautiful baby girl.
