SATA makes the best spray guns. They are manufactured in Germany and are cutting edge. The SR3000 HVLP is the newest gun available. This is great for applying base as well as clear coat.

Without a doubt, Devilbliss. I bet 2 out of 3 body shops that have paint booths have A Devilbliss brand paint gun in there. Need more convincing from a better known source. Check online for the major car manufacturers and see what type they use. My brother works at GM in Oshawa Ontario Canada and that's what he uses.

It all depends on what kind of automotive paint gun you are looking for. There are; conventional paint guns, HVLP paint guns, primer paint guns, touch-up paint guns, and bed liner/undercoat paint guns.
If you're looking for a good conventional paint gun I would recommend the DeVilbiss JGA Suction Feed Spray Gun. It's features include a drop-forged aluminum gun body for maximum durability, a replaceable threaded baffle for economical servicing and a cartridge type air valve for positive sealing and quick action. It's always worked well with no problems.

Unfortunately, like pretty much everything else today, it's getting harder to find good quality tools that are "Made in the USA." The only thing that I can recommend is that you stay with traditionally American brands like Lincoln or Hobart welders, and hope for the best... I might also mention that you really don't need to buy new when you can frequently find used light duty welders that are good for home workshop use at your local pawn shop.
