Funding should be increased for hydrogen fuel research. Our dependence on oil is draining our economy. We are using our military resources to fight for oil rights. Yes, there is no free lunch, there is no perpetual motion machine. The technology is there. Electrolytic, and compression and refrigerated separation. Both require a little more energy than you get back. The welding supply companies already do that. If we had nuclear power plants or another economical power source, it would be practical and the hydrogen could be transported through the existing pipelines and burned the same way as natural gas. The problem here is we have a plentiful supply of natural gas. It is being vented and burned at the wells as we k our government to solve all of our problems and dole out everything we wish for. and protest domming up rivers, drilling oil wells, cutting timber, etc.
