Is there any succesful video games that have factions VSing eachother that take over each others cities?

I was just wondering if there were any video games that were fairly succesful or decent, thats online. That you have different races/factions that battle it out for control over the world. That you join up with other users to beseige enemy cities and take them over. Sort of like world of warcraft's battlegrounds but in real time, not a instance.
