This wont happen and Ill tell you why, I have a relative that works for the Raiders organization and they tell me they are nearly set on taking Russel in the draft. I know things can change but this will not happen. I have also heard rumors that Vick will play this year w/ the Falcons and they will begin to prep Matt Schaub as a starter and trade Vick away next year, this was on ESPN NEWS this morning. Vick is an explosive player however Al Davis doesnt believe he is worth their top 2 recievers and 1st selection overall. He likes a qb that can run but also has an arm w/ accuracy and over the yrs Vick has shown he has the running part down but so much the throwing. So look for Vick to remain the QB of the Falcons and for the Raiders to take Russell first overall. Im willing to bet on it.

I really doubt it....Vick didnt exactly have a career year last year. Vince Young proved last year that the Michael Vick mold of quarterback isnt that rare, either - JaMarcus Russell is bigger and just as mobile as Vick, and isnt quite as banged up either.
The top overall pick plus 2 elite receivers would be wayyy too much for Vick - he's shown that he cant make decent receivers look better, so giving away your two top wideouts would not be the best strategy if you're bringing Vick in.
The Raiders just signed a brand new head coach who's bringing the USC offensive philosophy with him - going at a brand new franchise QB already, before he's even had a chance to hire an offensive coordinator or a staff, would not be the best timing.
For the Falcons its a great deal, though the owner has a huge man-crush on Vick, and just fired Jim Mora because he couldnt get Vick to produce, so trading Vick seems like a strange move, since they already seemed to have sided with him. For the Raiders its a ripoff, though Al Davis has been known to make some boneheaded moves before and does love the retread QBs.
I just still dont buy it, though.....it seems too hypey, too many big names and top picks, to be true.

As said, Falcons have confirmed they are NOT trading Vick. I aslo agree that it would be VERY dumb on the Raiders part (for the already mentioned reasons)
1) They have an already needy passing game (Vick can run, but Aaron Brooks is no statue and he gets squashed behind that line) --both due to line and underperformance by recievers --so getting rid of their top 2 would be idiodic
2) Vick does not perform that well with average(/less-than avg) recievers, so bringing him in after getting rid of guys w/potential would be dumb
This would all be great for the Falcons though. Yes they say Vick is their guy, but when he's had to play, Schaub is no slouch. If he had Moss and Porter (who I'm sure would perform better on a better team) they could really step things up. (I doubt they'd take a QB because they have other needs and Schaub could be the QB for atleast a couple years even if he doesnt turn out to be franchise material).

Well, either way, regardless of if Michael Vick comes back, I expect the Falcons to have a great year this upcoming year. I'm sure you may have heard of the NFC South pattern that has been going on the past many years. The team that finishes last in the conference always becomes the best in that conference, so that means Atlanta is in line, and I have a feeling that the draft is going to do wonders for them. Maybe they will find someone just as entertaining as Michael Vick? But if Michael Vick DID come back, and that's a really huge IF, then I would expect Baltimore to take him in an instant if they need a quarterback at the time. But then again, I don't really see that happening any time soon.

Heard on Mike and Mike this morning that the Falcons put out a Press Release stating they are not trading or cutting Vick. Although remember Culpepper? That was pretty tasteless of a move so I guess there could be some teeth to this. I think it would be a bad move for the Raiders. Yeah upgrade at QB, over Aaron Brooks I could proably be on par and I am not a QB. I don't think that it is fair to them though. Yeah they get rid of THEIR problems and the Falcons get rid of their problem BUT it still just doesn't seem like a good deal.

Might be the best for both sides. Vick needs a fresh start and the Falcons have been holding on to Matt Schuab who appears to have potential. Plus the Raiders want Moss and Porter out.

i think that vick would then be in the same situation he is in now with atlanta..having no good receivers...and even worse..he wouldnt have a TE now to throw to...and dunn has outshined lamont jordan the past 2 years...so vick woul dbe in a horrible situation...as for moss and porter...it would be a dream come true for them...but raiders should just draft a qb out there..i wouldnt give up the first overall pick for vick..he cant win..and hes showed that..it would be a waste..just like atlanta wasted so many picks to get vick instead of taking LT..yea, how did that work out for them..if anything..try to trade moss and porter just for the falcons first round pick..then draft a wide receiver with the 10th pick

Wow, the Raiders would be screwing themselves on this one. There's no reason to give up that much to get a mediocre quarterback. Mediocre describes Vick on a good day. They would be better off using that first round draft pick on JaMarcus Russell or Brady Quinn and trading Moss and Porter for reciever or two.
It doesn't really matter who they lineup at quarterback if they can't protect him though. That offensive line was terrible.
The best bet for the Raiders would be to just blow the whole offense up and start over.

It's actually not that bad. JaMarcus Russell would be going to the Falcons probably and they would also be fixing their receiver problem they've had for years. The Raiders would still have the tenth pick with a very deep draft coming up and they be getting..well..Michael Vick!
I don't know if Raiders would give up both of their top receivers, but Robert Curry wasn't too bad at all last year.
Thanks for bringing this up. It would be pretty cool for the Madden gamers next year if this did happen.

If he goes there it's because the Falcons are tired of his attitude and mediocre play. They could then get the #1 draft pick and start over with Jamarcus Russell.
The first thing I'd do after making that trade would be to re-trade Randy Moss to a desperate team and make it an even sweeter deal. I think it would be a steal for the Falcons.
