Back in July, I had a dvd player installed in my computer. DVD's worked fine after I installed the software that came with the dvd player. However, now that the software expired, I am unable to play dvd's. I have tried installing free software that's supposed to allow me to play dvd's, however, I have no luck yet. Can you tell me what I need to do or what the problem is?

You should ensure to REMOVE the previous DVD player software, from your Control Panel, going to Add/Remove programs. After successfully removing the DVD player try re-installing a new DVD player.

I bought a computer with a built-in DVD player, however, I was told that the motor driving that player could burn out. Have a technician check out your CPU.

Sounds like you were supposed to pay for the software at some point.

You can not reinstall the software because the computer's hard drive knows you've already used it once. It has permanent records on there that you can't erase.

Usually, an OEM or other DVD-ROM drives bundled software does not include trial versions.
