Opposite magnetic poles attract and like poles repel. Magnetic poles are not related to static charges, so they are not called positive and negative, but north and south.

Magnetic levitation is where two like poles are one above the other, and the repulsive force of the like poles balances the force of the Earth's gravitational force so that the top magnet "floats" above the bottom pole.

When a positive is connected with another positive, or negative to a negative.....It makes the magnet retract from each other so there for it levitates
