I don't know. I think it can sometimes be tricky to differentiate. If "lust" is defined as "intense sexual desire or appetite," then I think lust is definitely a part of the traditional view of romantic love. These sexual cravings on their own, however, do not constitute love. True love comes when sexual passion, intimacy, and commitment are all present.

Lust is using the body of the other person to satisfy yourself. Love is .......well, nobody has been able to describe it. I don"t claim that I can, either.
Actually, the difficulty lies in describing Love itself, not in
distinguishing it from Lust.

well, how do you feel about the person? If you can't stop thinking about them and wish you were with them, that's love (probably!) Lust is purely sexual. Lust is more common for men to feel than women; women more usually fall in love, men are visually stimulated and often feel simple lust more

mainly, the distinguation comes from time, when you don't want the person for phycisal means but just for the enjoyment of having them around. I think somewhere between five to eight months is a good time frame, after five to eigth months stop and ask yourself, do i love *insert name/object/action*? if you can honestly say "yes" and then move on with whatever it was you were doing, then that is love.

When you lust, you see just the physical appearance. When you love, you don't really the appearance of that person. You just feel that you can't let him/her out of your sight.
