Why not? .We should stand up to our own opinion. And what other better way to do it than to self-vote?.It reinforces our self-confidence. Those who don't vote for themselves basically lacks conviction in their own answers. This applies in the real world where every politician even vote for themselves. So do the American Idol contestants, all of them not only voted for themselves and asks their friends and relatives to do the same. In the United Nations, the U.S does it all the time. and the list goes on.......
In every civilized world, a voting system is crucial, otherwise chaos reigns, might would be right and the human civilizations including this Y!answer will crumble beyond recognition. So everyone must exercise and uphold the sanctity of voting for himself!

Can I actually do that? I thought the only we could influence the vote was to threaten or bribe other voters.

Like doesn't the vote get counted on the number of thumbs up thumbs down? I noticed that when I scroll up and give every answer a thumbs up, mine is greyed out, as in accepting no input. That's how I keep tabs on who I've already given thumb up to.

Although I know people can star their own questions.
It costs more points to star you own than somebody else's though.

So that's how you got to level 5 with a 25% correct answer ratio so quickly! Yes, I've done it. But only when mine was the only answer. Someone was going to vote anyway. It might as well have been me.

i did it a few times. and it's a good thing cause no one else voted. people shouldn't leave their questions up for voting..it's not a fair system. people usually just vote for the first answer..

Used to. Don't care much anymore. I want to get to level 7 just to say I did it. After all, there is no level 8.

For your information, as you probably already know, you CAN vote for your own answer.
