Use your discretion. I would, but my family is used to it. I have been listening to NIN since 1989 when Pretty Hate Machine was released - 18 years; since i was 8 years old.

It depends on what you mean by appropriate.

If your wedding has anything to do with vows before God, making a life-long vow, and expressing an incredible committment, then.... NIN is probably not appropriate.

If you're shooting for tacky and temporary, then I'd go with NIN.

Not trying to be judgmental, but do you really want to look back at your wedding 20 years from now, and hear NIN playing?

Why would you play Closer at the wedding? lol. I would choose either The Hand That Feeds or Ring Finger or even Get Down Make Love.

No, I think that would push it a bit too far, I played some softer rock tunes at my wedding, NIN - Hurt at the reception and Guns n Roses - November Rain at the wedding itself, leave the heavy stuff for late when everyones already tanked anyway!
Got that song in my head....you let me violate you.....

Hell yeah. You play whatever you like. IMHO it will make a very good memory in 20 years or so.
The people who know you (like grandmothers) wouldn't mind. Even if they don't have the same taste in music, its your day and your man's, and if you are happy, they are happy.
