Yes, they are different. Mcdonalds has beef and pork burgers in other countries and hardly has any veg varities available in Europe and USA. They have beef burgers in UAE countries but no pork and neither pork nor beef bugers are available in India, the tastes are also very different.
Even Pizza Hut, has been customized to the counties tastes. Like, in India we will find a lot of Tandoor range and Indian spices, this is not available in other countries.
Hope this helps.

yes very true, they all cater to thier countries tastes.
I went to the mcdonalds in Kyoto or osaka if i remember years ago.
the portions were tiny compared to the united states. i remember the desserts were all puddings and they had some hamburger that was like a big mac with a sunny side up egg on top... no way.the BK that was in Bangkok was much like here.
i was in asia recently and heard there was a mcdonalds in Vientiane Laos but of course when i went it was already out of buisness. my one place for a fast food fix wasn't there...i was astonished to even think of one in that country.

You asked about portions: I noticed that the smallest sized portions available in the US are bigger than the medium sized portions in Asian countries. It's a matter of what Asians are typically able to consume in one sitting. Little wonder obesity is a big problem in America, if you will. And it won't be long before we export that problem to other countries, as well.

When I ate at McDonalds in London it was almost like the USA although the beef tasted a little different to me--might have been my imagination. It was great though. I have no reference for other places. Sorry.

I believe that the corporations allow people to franchise stores. This could mean that certain things could be different. When one does franchise a store, though, there are certain standards that must be followed.
