I personally feel that exchanging gifts on Valentine's Day is overrated, instead do something special together. Think about your favorite things to do and plan something nice. It doesn't have to cost anything and there is no stressing over what to get each other. If you simply must gift think about something meaningful about your time together, you say you've only been dating for a few months so I would suggest something like a book, or a CD. Maybe even a gift card to a favorite coffee shop or restaurant. If it's useful and thoughtful they will always remember you when they use their gift. Good luck!

a magazine subscription for a favorite of his, but not one that's too expensive. This way you don't spend too much, maybe $25-30 at most, maybe even as little as $15 but it's something he'll have all year long. And if it doesn't work out, you didn't lose much, and he gets a monthly reminder of what he missed out on. And depending on the place, you can ask them to cancel it whether or not you want your money back. Or just have it sent to a good guy friend instead by changing the recipient's address. Very simple unserious gift with a nice gesture behind it.

If you've only seen him for a few months, don't buy him an expensive gift.

But since you are in a relationship and valentine's day is near, you can give him a small gift that he will remember.

I suggest this "Spun Glass Sail Boat/blue Base"

Don't make a big deal out of it, and don't spend alot of money. Don't get anything overly romantic either ... especially if you're not serious yet. Why don't you agree to spend a special night together and you each pay for part of it? For example ... he pays for dinner if you pay for the movie ... or something like that. Not a materialistic gift, but a fun night that you can enjoy together.

Give him a picture of you. Every time I see the picture I was given I think about the day she gave it to me. Nice memories.

His favorite stuffed animal. Mine likes gorillas and I bought him a stuffed one when we first started dating. Needless to say we have been together for 7 years now and he won't get rid of that thing.

You really can't go wrong. Anything is just fine. V day is the one holiday that would be abolished by newly adopted man laws.
