Sounds like an I/O conflict. Go to start menu > Programs > Accessories > System tools > System Information. In this applet window expand 'Hardware resources' now select 'Conflicts/Sharing' here you will see all devices that could be negatively sharing resources with your sound card.

If you haven't done this already.. you must remove and reinstall the sound card drivers.

Also reinstall Windows Direct X. It facilitates coding language between your operating system and the card itself. It can be found here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx

Hope some of this advice helps!

it could be a sound card issue. the sound card may not be able to handle the amount of input.

TO ME IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU PUT THE CARD IN WRONG OR ITS IN A SLOT THAT CANNOT BE READ. ALSO IT COULD BE THE FACT THAT THE GAMES YOUR PLAYIN TAKE UP INTERNAL MEMORY THAT CAUSES THE GLICH BUT I WOULD TAKE IT TO A TECHY ANYWAYS
