My mom especially seems to have a big problem with all the womens studies classes I'm taking. Today, she was like "you're taking ANOTHER women's studies class? that's insane! i can't believe there's a whole major for that."
And a few weeks ago she told me that my classes were brainwashing me with crazy information.
What can I say to her to justify me taking these classes? Thanks 4 your help.

jus try to explain the reason we have Women's Studies, African American studies, Mexican American studies and etc is because all through our k-12 schooling, we are taught history from the dominant perspective (european and male).. women's issues are greatly overlooked, unappreciated and undervalued and there is nothing wrong with seeking knowledge on it. after all, thats what ur in college for! maybe you could enlighten her on some of the interesting things ur learning so she can understand the importance of it

Womens studies normally don't help your marketability in the real world. She may feel its a waste of time and money. You can calm her nerves by telling her your life dream is to work in a shelter, a feminist movement, or some other socialist organization. Womans studies may help you feel better about being a woman but won't necessarily fatten you wallet.

I don't know your mom obviously, but maybe she's just concerned as to what kind of job you'll be able to get once you graduate with a women's studies degree. College is very expensive to not be able to find a job once you're out. Why don't you ask her why she seems to be against it.
