If you believe in an eye for an eye...sure.
If you belive that stoping secterian violence can be achieved by killing someone...sure.
If you believe that Iraq can encourage groups to forgive each other and reconcile depite seeing revenge on Saddam...sure.
But if you think that showing mercy and showing a different path aside from revenge and retribution is more important for the future of Iraq.....maybe not.
You will find many Americans support his death....but they have no reason, unless of course for the illiterates who still believe that Iraq and OBL were partners in 9/11 and for those, there is no logic or hope.

In order for me to work off points and to justify Saddam execution by hanging, it is sad but true he had to die.

Saddam lost the support of his neighbors. Internally he has full control. His approach was rigid. USA and many Iraq thought that democracy was solution. Election was not a failure. Death punishment was given by Iraq court. Present legal Government is responsible for this punishment. Now it appears that there is atmosphere of mistrust at people level. Armed group are menace. We should pray for the unity of Iraqi people and support every move in this direction.

These are just a few of the methods of torture exacted upon the Iraqi people under Saddam's rule:
Medical experimentation
Beatings
Crucifixion
Hammering nails into the fingers and hands
Amputating the penis or breasts with an electric carving knife
Spraying insecticides into a victim’s eyes
Branding with a hot iron
Committing rape while the victim’s spouse is forced to watch
Pouring boiling water into a rectum
Nailing the tongue to a wooden board
Extracting teeth with pliers
Using bees and scorpions to sting naked children in front of their parents
Yes. I would say his execution was justified. So he got heckled? He was belittled?
He got off easy.

What your heart says different peoples have different openion in the view of Kurds ( the Prey of Suddam) its just like a Eid Gift.. but as a human being i would say its better to kill a predator but kill on spot not after keeping in presion for a long while and killing in public like did to saddam.. The whole world know saddam didnt lose You saw him dying with dignity. No fear even saddam i would say it was not at all justice. This is a play of america. they just shown the world that everything can work on their command.
I know you are agree with me. Think like a normal human.

Saddam merits to hold till at last death however the way US has guard the situation, I beleive it became unfair. US has no top to place legs in different international locations shoes. they might desire to look after their u . s . a ....Saddam had no purpose to harm US or the individuals human beings...even US became did no longer discover any mass destruction weapon. to that end , Saddam execution became justifies yet by US became no longer honest.

Saddam's execution is definitely justified. Just being the president of the country you cannot loot it.Also should not take the one section of people for ride since he hates them

it depends as per the view angle.
Is it justified to kill 1000s attacking WTC? Many celebrated the destruction too. So the justification cannot be generalized in these issues as the communities are different.

ofcourse, the death of a man who was responsible for the deaths of thousands is fair.
Saddam killed 140 persons in Iraq.. so he definately deserves this punishment...
but Mr. Bush killed more than 1,40,000 innocent people in Afghanistan.. what punishment does he deserve then??
Saddam got his punishment.. ok.. accepted
but still Bush is enjoying himself...THINK...
do u think what Bush did was right? he killed sooooooooooo many people in afghanisthan...If Bush had killed members of your family, would you think it would be fair then? ofcourse not!!
so the final fact is... saddam has his fault.. so he was punished.. and Bush also has his fault.. but is it fair for him to enjoy himself still...
BEING ONE OF THE YAHOO ANSWER WE SHOULD BE GENUINE BY ALL THE ANSWER WHICH WE GIVE. IT WAS VERY CLEAR THAT THE COURT WHICH HAS DECIDED DEATH PLENTY FOR SUDDAM WAS NOT AN INDEPENDENT COURT IT WAS UNDER THE PRESSURE OF USA'S GOVERNMENT. !!
No execution (of human being) is fair.
It was too fast. we do think he should have been tried by an International court like the HAYA court or something like that.
Hanging of a General, for vicious reasons, or grudge, without any fair trial, most unfair.lowest and most inhuman act of a coward. Bush.
Why is everybody picking on poor SADDAM?
no one's execution is fair,(Saddam for example) but Bush, he is UNFORGIVABLE!!!hope he dies in an ugly box someday
well even if we assume that he must be punished for what he did, then what about mr.bush!HE HAS BEEN TRYING TO BE THE BIG BROTHER OF THIS WORLD, what the uno and other international organisations are about, must be rediscussed in the present lop-sided world.
its not fair.. coz Bush being a criminal himself shouldn't judge others... right??
In the name of war against terrorism, Bush is spreading terrorism and he himself has become the most dngerous threat to humanity. Iraq is united under Saddam but now divided under America. America broke the unity of Iraquis by separting them into Shias, Sunnis , Khurds etc., Even the victims of Saddam are saying that the misery of Iraq now is far worse than under Saddam. The Americans have taught him a lesson in the recent elections. But he did not learn from it. How to check him and who will check him???

I do think he deserved the death penalty, and if that's there way of doing it then so be it. My only issue with it was the heckling and yelling. But my family wasn't tortured so I can't judge their feelings. Personally, I thought it was going to happen more "professionaly", I've never seen an american death happen, but I don't think there is yelling like that that happens.
