If their parents taught them to respect each other then relationships can be great for teens, unfortunately, most parents these days don't bother with that.

You really have hit the nail on the head--it is natures way of helping young people mature and learn that all people are individuals and we have to treat each other with dignity and respect---like how we would want to be treated ourselves. Young folks unfortunately use and misuse the word love---the definition of love is not anything like what they think it is. It is thrown around without really knowing what it is. Dating and relationships are a growing process--helps to find and explore what love is really supposed to be. The trouble with young relationships is what they are gauged on--sex and physical satisfaction---that's what is causing the issues---disease, unwanted babies, psycological problems---you can see how it kind of ruins a young life. Unless the parents have a real discussion and talk openly about how to react to dating at a young age, the kids will keep getting in over their head and wind up very unhappy. Young people need to constantly be reminded that they are responsible for their own actions and not be taken in by others. Without healthy fun relationships, no one would ever learn anything --Good luck and have a really nice life.

Teenagers and young adults need to develop FRIENDSHIPS with the opposite sex. Friendships do not have to involve sexual intercourse. All people need to understand that. Friendships are social. Sex is intimate and personal. Friendship should come before sex gets in the way. Too many people do not learn to relate to each other socially and to develop a working relationship that provides something constructive to both males and females in their daily living other than a "good time in bed".
Sex, as a matter of fact, is no good unless there is effective social communication and gender role flexibility from everyone involved in a boyfriend and girlfriend relationship.

well this is a tough question. for some its good to have that learning of relationships for in the future or they could end up high school sweethearts, but when it comes down to pregnancy thats a different story, they have there whole life ahead of them then all of sudden they want a baby, teenagers should live there lives go out and travel move out of home support themselves before having babies, be more educated when it comes to sex. the guy might like you now, but whats he gonna be like when you fall pregnant?? good to the ones that stick by there responsibilties but not all males care. there mainly just looking for a lay.

I think serious relationships and teenagers dont mix! Being young and experiencing life should have a wide variety of people involved! If your tied down your less likely to explore your options.
