because of the stigma attached to those who buy/watch.
the money comes from normal; soccer moms and little league dads, your doctor, your mailman, the folks who live next door and even your pious brother in law who chastised you when he found a mag in your bathroom.

I think people will agree that it's entirely a different thing to buy a Triple XXX CD from buying, say, a new shirt. You wear the new shirt and tell yours friends. But the CD, you can't brag about it because your friends might think that you're kinda a pervert or something. The porn industry is really a market of low profile users and no one in his right mind will brag about his collection. If there's one who's stupid enough to admit publicly, people will not mind him anyway.

I know a lot of people who admit to it. I don't buy much anymore because i don't like most of the new stuff out there. I still like the classics of the 1970's and 1980's. I would rather rent than buy and if it is good, i might spring for it. there is nothing wrong with it.
