I am looking for easy to understand information on where actual productive (in the sense of producing goods and servicies and ignoring things like financial speculation, rents, interest etc) economic activity. In the form of a map would be nice, but I am not sure how much detail I want...

Also are there words for what I am talking about here because I am very unclear what I should call it (which I why I didn't search google).

I just mean, how much (in money) activity is in what regions. Like how much for different countries, comparing them, and maybe between regions within countries.

Ok for instance, if I wanted to know how much production occurs in Nigeria compared to the UK (ignoring finance industry type stuff). I know stuff like GDP doesn't exactly tell me what I want to know. But I don't know what would tell me what I want to know.

Your question is too general. The subject is vast.

Um, the answer is "just about everywhere". Look around you. Any store, restaurant, McDonalds, 7-11, gas station, barber shop, yes actual services are being served in all those places.

Production of goods is not quite as ubiquitous but it also is scattered around everywhere. No, there is not going to be any maps of general "production" or "services" because those things happen all over the place, so it would be useless and overwhelming to make such a map.

P.S. There's a good link below for checking country GDPs to compare and contrast them. It seems to me GDP is exactly what you'd want if you want to know about total economic activity, I don't know why you want to exclude financial activities.
