Tomorrow night is our "date" night. We take every Wednesday off for each other. He is going shark fishing until about 7:30pm. I was going to be domestic and cook something. A good friend just called to see if I could meet her and some others for drinks for her birthday tomorrow night. I don't know why I'm so wishy-washy on this. My man won't care which I choose, he'll be tired from fishing and pass out right after dinner. I really don't want to hurt my friend's feelings but I'd rather just crash on the couch after dinner, too. Please help me decide.....

I say stick with the original plan. Sounds like it will be a better time for you.

I can understand being wishy washy, I have been called fickle a few times.
I say wait to see how you feel tommarow. My gut says "go out with the girls!" and I bet you would have great fun, but if you are tired tommarow, then ask your friend for a rain check. Wish her a Happy Birthday and say you owe her a drink.

BUT, what can one drink hurt?

If you go, just make sure you reschedule 'date-night', don't just blow it off. If you really don't want to go, ask your friend if you can do lunch or something else some other time to celebrate. She shouldn't mind, after all, it was a last minute invitation.

Tell the truth, you have plans and that it is your "date night" but you would like to make plans for her for another time. She will understand if she is really your friend
