when you consider the differences in monetary exchange and the different cost of living 10 cents is a lot more than what most americans think of. some americans will not stoop down to pick a dime up off the sidewalk, and yet easily shell out $3 for a gallon of gas. some places in the world that dollar a day is enough to feed a small family. get a couple of the kids bringing in 50 cents or more a day and you can live well.

I agree with you absolutely and that is the truth, they must gradually get their balance in all these countries and that is why we need not promote all of our styles and expressions of wealth, on the low side is always better with the chinese, they appreciate things a lot more than we do over here, and we should take note of that as well. A little more honor here and less flamboyancy would be more applicable to them. This is a different country and no one should be made to feel lesser, they have their way and we have ours, and we should not give up our fight for minimum wage increase either, and we should cut taxes by cutting government salary increases as a matter of fact they bust people down in grade in the military then they should do the same with the politicians and they should be made to pay for their own health care out of their pocket because they get too large of a pension and too large of a benefit for their families while we starve, they are acting just like the royales. If you don't want socialism then they better cut their salaries because if the liberals get their way they will use this as a platform to promote socialism and we will be in a world of hurt. too much money for one person is what is wrong here. Bush said he wants to put a cap on the people suing doctors for part of his plan is to do that so he will be able to pass his feeble health bill in Congress, but I say that an injured person by a doctor who is rich should pay and no cuts for them. But cut the lawyers percentages too. They are too rich too.They should be made to take at least 25 pro bono cases a year. doctors should be made to take patients on that basis as well, and no more corporate health facilities ever again.

Your question is legitimate. There should be because without this kind of work force development the chinesse will never reach the point of having decent wages. The sweat shops can only continue as long as there is mass unemployment in china, after that people will go where the wages are higher. sadly they are a necessary part of development.
Personally i think everyone should be paid a fair wage within their economic system, but it's absurd to say that everyone should be paid an American wage or any other nations wage.

let them eat rice? right?
Jesus said "do unto others as you would have them do unto you"
that's why there shouldn't be in my book...
rationalizing something doesn't make it "right"
and I think there is a lot of difference between a place paying a "fair wage" for a fair days pay, compared to what people think of when they think of "sweat shops"
