I had this same problem. I was given this advice and it has worked perfectly. First use the "feel the soil" method to determine when to water your plants --- which probably shouldn't be any more often than weekly... but feel the plant soil to determine if its time rather than just watering them each Sunday. If the soil is moist, wait another couple days.

AFTER each watering of your plants, spray a solution on the surface soil. Avoid getting it on the leaves. Repeat this each time you water (AFTER you water). The solution spray should consist of water and a drop or two (no more) of dish detergent.

We had a pretty bad infestation of nats, so it took a couple weeks of this to get rid of them all.

Good luck.

blend a tsp of orange oil and a million/4 cup of liquid seaweed in a 32 ozspray bottle (you'll stumble on all of this at Lowe's or living homestead Depot). Fill loosen up of spray bottle with water, shake appropriate, and spray on your plant life. The orange oil will kill the insects at the same time as the seaweed will provide foodstuff lower back on your lower than pressure-out plant life.

Nicotine. If you don't smoke go buy a couple of cheap cigars (if you do use a pack of smokes).Cut them up and soak them in boiling hot water til it cools. Put liquid in a spray bottle and mist you're plants. You can also water them with liquid once a month to make them taste bad to many types of insects.
