I think Mischa is a beautiful name (really pretty), Marissa on the other hand seems a little hard.

They're both nice. Marissa is a little more traditional right now, and Mischa might feel trendy in 10 years. I'm not sure. It depends on the baby's last name (which you obviously shouldn't put online!), but I'd lean toward Marissa.

I like Marissa because Mischa sounds too trendy right now and I never really liked that actress from the OC much.

I absolutely LOVE the name Marissa. I have a good friend with the name and would even name my baby due in March Marissa if it weren't for her already having the name. Mischa sounds..I don't know...Russian or eastern European sounding. The name just sort of sloshes around on your tongue and sounds "wishy washy" if you know what I mean. Not defined and elegant at all like the name Marissa.

I like Marissa better. Mischa almost sounds like a fancy name for a dog or something. (Plus I can't stand Mischa Barton)

Marissa.. definitely. I've never cared for the "trendy" names.. one or two people use it to be unique and next thing you know everybody's naming their kid the same name. Then you get all these mixed up spellings (look at Haley, Hailey, Haily, Haily, Haylee, Haylie, Hayley for example).
I've known only one Marissa... very nice girl. Mischa sounds Russian.. if you are Russian.. great.. but if not, it's going to confuse people with such an ethnic sounding name.
