there are many theories which try to explain the rotation of earth.
one of them says that, when the pre-earth was formed from sun it's way of rotation followed the way the sun was rotating. but this has some drawbacks eg. if this was the reason then all the planets of solar system should rotate in the same way, which is not the case.
other says that, when moon got detached (?) from earth the rotation started, but this theory is highly doubted.

Earth, the sun and the rest of our solar system formed inside an immense cloud of interstellar gas and dust (..called a 'nebula'..) That nebula had movement within it, and as the sun and planets of the solar system formed they each took on some of this motion (..law of conservation of motion..)

i guess tis is d answer!!!

God did it when he created day and night. Without rotation we would have no change of day. Without change of day, Sunday would not come. Wthout Sunday, I would go to hell because there would be no church day.

it's still spinning from when the sun exploded. stir your tea, there is one big swirl in the center and several smaller swirls around it. we are a smaller swirl, the motion (spinning) never stops in free space
